Calcite
CaCO3
Layers of calcite found in limestone with
red iron oxide and manganese oxide ( MnO2 ) making an interesting fluorescent
specimen. Under shortwave UV it fluoresces red
and blue with some orange
and pink. It is then phosphorescent blue.
Under longwave UV it fluoresces yellow. It
also shows the property of thermoluminescence glowing blue.
